Become a Member of the League of Women Voters of St. Paul 

The League of Women Voters of St. Paul is a respected and effective grassroots organization—and you can be part of it. Membership is open to everyone age 16 and older who believes in strengthening democracy through civic participation.

How to Join or Renew 

Membership dues are paid annually and renew on your anniversary date (one year from your initial join date). When you join LWV St. Paul, your dues are shared with the state and national Leagues—so your support strengthens democracy at every level.

Membership FAQs

  • Membership is open to all people age 16 or older. No prior experience is needed—just a commitment to democracy and civic engagement. 

  •  No. While our work is focused locally, members can live anywhere. Many join simply to support our mission. 

  • Yes, the percentage of dues going to St. Paul and Minnesota (LWVMN) are tax deductible. The percentage going to National (LWVUS) is not tax-deductible. Your receipt will provide a breakdown of this information.  

    If you’d like to make a fully tax-deductible gift, consider donating to the League of Women Voters of St. Paul Education Fund. 

  • That’s up to you. Some members attend events, serve on the board or committees, or help with voter registration. Others support the League simply through their dues. Every membership matters. 

  • Yes. Membership is open starting at age 16, and we welcome high school and college students who want to get involved in civic life.
